What’s the policy you’re most afraid to enforce right now?

Ok so before we get in too deep on this, for context, this topic has been inspired by the posts that are trending in the last 60 days in our teacher group right now. What I noticed when going through these threads that almost nobody said they didn’t have a studio policy. It’s written down, distributed and likely to be on a teacher’s website. But it’s SO REASONABLE to be afraid of enforcing it with the folks that are paying you.

The gap between the policy you have and the way you enforce it can be massive.

“Your studio policy is just the strictest version.”
You can always use your best judgement in situations where you can go above-and-beyond in your customer service.

When you enforce a policy, you’re not being mean or disrespectful because you are just leaning on a decision you already made and communicated in advance.

You probably already know in the back of your mind what your policies should be, and you probably wrote most of them down. Let the rules carry the weight so you don’t have to feel like the bad guy every time you point to it.

Write down the strictest version of yourself and put it where families see it before they sign on.
